A New Year

Well it is now a new year... I had a pretty nice New Years Eve.  I went to see Eric's family and hung out with his grandparents, mom and sister for a little while then went to a small get together at Daan's house.  We played a game I can't remember the name of for the life of me, but has some little wooden hockey pucks you are supposed to get into goal areas with point values.  It was fun, but the best part is the huge amount of fireworks the people here in Holland set off.  It's bigger than the fourth of July.  The big ones the city sets off in Havasu can be bought here and people set them off all over town.

The 2nd of January I went to a sauna with a friend and did some relaxing.  I went to Koln (Cologne) Germany for two days as well with my friend from Mexico.  It was cold, and not a very pretty city but it was nice regardless.  We climbed the steps of the Cathedral, had a few nice meals, drank some hot wine, and walked around the city.

Now, it is definitely back to reality.  I have 2 doctors appointments in the next 2 days, some immunizations for India, and a meeting with one of my thesis supervisors.  I hate being this busy and I keep looking forward to the time when I am able to have a job that allows me to go home at the end of the day and not have to do any work that's waiting for me there.  I am so nervous about India.  Not really about the travel or being in the country itself, but more worried about not doing a good job with my research.

It will all work out I am sure...

Sorry about the immunizations - that doesn't sound like much fun.

Once you start your research I suspect you'll get too involved to worry about anything. I've never known you to do anything halfway :-)
