Hello all,
Sorry for my extended absence (or at least it feels like one) but I have been busy changing rooms, trying to get internet installed, trying to work out translator problems, as well as trying to figure out what to do after losing the voice recorder that I bought in the states to record my interviews (there is actually a better possibility it was stolen). However, I am now in my new room, it looks like after yet another let-down with the PhD student I thought was going to translate for me, I have found someone else (an older man, he teaches painting at the yoga school I go to, and I think he will do an excellent job) and at the very least I don't think he will tell me a few days from now that he can no longer do it. I have also gotten another voice recorder so even though things are a bit more difficult than I would like I guess they are coming together.
I went to the zoo here in Mysore this morning, it is only 50 cents to get in! It is pretty nice, though some of the spaces could be larger, etc. I do not really like zoos all that much because I think the animals belong in a more natural setting for the most part. I did get to see a king cobra though, very interesting. The signs at the zoo were hilarious though. Everywhere I went, there was a sign that had some gruesome picture of a person being eaten by the animal to be seen, and then the zoo mentioning that the animals eating you would make THEM sick, and then you would be punished.... haha.
I am still going strong with yoga, that seems to be the only consistent thing in my life! There is a cow and some roosters literally right outside my window in my new room. The roosters insist on crowing way before the sun comes up, and the cow very rarely sleeps I believe because he is also a noise maker. I am going to need some earplugs. I have already day dreamed of going out back and offering to buy the roosters so that I can bring them far far away and throw them somewhere new to crow there.
That's the condensed version of what I have been doing the past few days. Hope everyone is well, love you all.

That picture is absolutely fantastic. I can't stop laughing.
How much punishment could you take after being partially eaten? from what i hear the wild tigers don't know eating humans makes them sick. i know that rooster story very well but have had the pleasure of dispatching and eating the troublemakers.
You have had some challenges recently but sounds like you are getting things well in hand.
Love the zoo pictures!
