El Sol!

So, the past few days in Amsterdam have been beautiful.  Considering how much rain we were getting the past few weeks before that a few days of sunshine is really nice.  Unfortunately, there is not much new to report.  I have not been doing much other than homework class and spending a little time with friends.  Last night my Mexican food craving was partially satisfied with some homemade enchiladas made by a friend of mine from Mexico who I met when I was studying abroad here the first time.
We were given a little more information on fieldwork options (and I do mean very little) but from what I have been hearing is that the most practical thing considering time and money constraints is that it is best to pick a country where you speak the language or they speak nearly perfect english because finding a good translator can be difficult, especially in terms of time and money constraints.  This has led me to consider more heavily latin american countries even though I was initially hoping to broaden my experience to other areas of the world.  I honestly could not tell you though where I am going to end up yet or even which area I will be working in.  I am looking into the Global Agenda for education now, but I am swinging back and forth every time I receive more information.  Whatever I choose will likely lead to a field of specialization and career implications so I am nervous about making a choice!
My Dutch classes went very well, much better than I expected actually.  She spoke Dutch for the entire 3 hours and there was very little that I did not understand so that's a great sign.  There is also a lot of work involved in that class as well but I have always liked language so it is not as bad as most homework assignments.
I am heading out to enjoy the sunshine for a little while now....
