Well my work permit finally came through after a little more than a month! I officially started last week and it's going pretty well. The people I work around so far seem to be very nice although it is a bit strange to be around so many Americans when in the past year or so I really haven't seen any. I think there have only been about 2-3 occasions where I have been around more than one or two at a time. The job is going well, definitely nothing I can't handle, which is reassuring because I was wondering when I was hired if I would have trouble getting settled, but it's been pretty easy.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day, my love to all of my family who had our annual family reunion this Memorial Day weekend and I had to miss it for the second time in a row. Know that I was thinking of all of you and I hope you all had a wonderful time. Please do send me some pictures and updates.
The rainy season is starting here in Ghana so we have had a few storms which I have actually enjoyed quite a bit. It's not a time to be out walking but it is nice to have a small change from the constant sun and heat (although even when it's raining here it is still quite hot).
I can't take any pictures around the embassy here, but let me tell you, it is HUGE. It's also brand new and quite nice. I have a new mailing address as well and you can now send me items for the local cost (it will be shipped to the embassy) so if anyone is going to send anyone please make sure to ask for my new address and how to address it.
I realized also I am going to be 24 soon which means my early 20's are officially going to be over. Haha, I know I am still pretty young but it still does feel strange how fast time passes, I am sure before I know it I will be 30.
I will try and take some pictures soon, although I am still living in the same place and now I am working so it doesn't seem there is much to take pictures of....
Love to all.
