Research Methods, Research Methods....

That's what I should be studying right now, I have a test on Wed and this is definitely not my best subject at all... I keep looking through my notes and thinking "did I take these??"

This weekend went by far too fast and I was pretty busy, luckily not with homework for most of it.  On Friday afternoon I had my big Dutch test, (not sure what grade I got yet) but I think I at least passed which is good considering how expensive those classes are.  Saturday there was an all day music festival in Zaandam so I went to that and walked around the city for a good part of the afternoon.  I also made an IKEA run on Saturday to finally get a comforter for my bed, a nightstand, and a dresser so that I have somewhere to put my clothes in.  It's actually a little ridiculous I waited this long to get my room in order.  Yesterday afternoon was Eric's grandmas birthday.  It was almost an all-day event but was nice even if I was a little overwhelmed sometimes with all the Dutch flying quickly around the room and often, over my head.

My favorite part of the weekend though was playing my first Scrabble game in Dutch with Eric.  We didn't keep score because he thought it would be kind of unfair to me with the level my Dutch is at but the funny thing is, I did really well!  We even came to the conclusion it looked like I had won the game and Eric commented he is actually glad we didn't keep score for his sake.  Of course now I want to buy a Scrabble board so I can use it as a tool to practice my Dutch...

That's pretty much all that happened over the weekend.  We are working on getting all my furniture put together and my room cleaned up as well as studying for tests, meeting with my thesis supervisor, and writing papers.

I am setting up a Halloween party here, all Dutch people I think and we are going to have a big pumpkin-carving party.  I don't think we are going to do costumes (they don't even really sell them here since they don't celebrate Halloween) and there won't be trick-or-treating but at least I can show them a piece of it.  I am looking forward to it, I think it will be a lot of fun, I will make sure to put up some pictures.

That's it for now...love you all.

Scrabble in Dutch, and you won? I am in awe. Pumpkin carving sounds like fun. Enjoy!
