Freezing...literally

So today it is supposed to drop to -2C, below freezing.  It has been miserable weather all day.  I made a date to have coffee with Hannah (my old study abroad coordinator, also an American) about 2 weeks ago and did not want to cancel.  So I threw on a sweater, coat and hat and ventured out into the cold.  I don't think I made it more than 50 yards from my house when my hands started to go numb already.  Still, it was really nice to see Hannah.  She always helps me out and gives me advice on anything related to living here in Holland and even when I was back in the states she was always willing to answer any questions I might have etc.  She actually has a few good friends moving to Mumbai soon and mentioned hooking me up with them so that I will have even more friendly faces in India while I do my fieldwork.

I made an Italian farmers soup tonight for dinner.  It has tomatoes, white beans, fresh spinach, garlic and onion, and french bread in it.  It has turned out to be one of my new favorites.

The weather made me feel pretty unmotivated today other than those few activities so I will have to make up for it tomorrow.  I do enjoy these resting days quite a bit.  The picture above isn't one of my best but I think it does show how today was and felt.....

Looks too cold for me! Keep warm and keep those soups simmering.
