I know I am horrible at this....

Hi everyone,

I know I have been kind of a slacker in updating my blog but I think I can blame at least part of that on the fact that YOU guys are kind of slacking in leaving me comments. After all, if no one is reading, why spend the time writing? :)

So things here have been busy, and hot. We all know how I feel about heat (I don't think there is anything I more passionately dislike), but I am surviving. I currently just have two volunteers here now but I will be picking up a new volunteer this weekend and giving her orientation. She will be here three months.

So the biggest news for those of you who don't know: I GET TO COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS :). I will be flying into Arizona on December 16th and staying until January 2nd. I am so excited to see all of my family and friends especially since I was not expecting to be able to go home this year at all.

I know all of you are loving the weather cooling down and the beginning of "winter" but here in Ghana, it is only getting hotter. It is about 95F and the cooler breezes I was getting the first month here seem to have died down considerably. I haven't been enjoying the hot weather and it definitely doesn't feel like Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming at all. We of course didn't celebrate Halloween here, and I didn't even get to do my customary pumpkin carving that I normally do in Amsterdam. I never even saw a pumpkin. It made me a bit sad, but we will have a thanksgiving dinner (if anyone can send me the recipe of a homemade stuffing I would really appreciate it) but we are going to use chickens instead of turkeys! Wish me luck, I hope it turns out successfully.

Not much else is happening, just trying to finish finalizing the semester study abroad program between Cape Coast University and a university in the U.S. On top of a lot of other work, this is important because we already have 2 girls signed up for the program and it is not quite finished yet!

I hope everyone is doing well, I am looking forward to seeing everyone in just a little over a month!

Love,
Briana

I read it too, Briana, you know I'm your not-so-secret reader since India, and I'm following your Ghana adventures too :)
Hope you're well and I'm glad you'll be seeing your family and friends around Christmas, great thing to look forward to!
Also, I would happily swap some Bulgarian fog and snow for a bit of Ghanaian sunshine - do we have a deal?

All of the social media stuff I read indicates that comments are not an indicator of readership. Lots of lurkers out there :-)

Consider your blog practice as a correspondent :-)
