Hi everyone,
No snow lately, but I am finally putting up some pictures of the few days we had a little. Just enough for a small snowball fight. I rode my bike out one of the nights it was snowing and by the time I arrived at my friend's house I was covered in a thin layer of white. I looked like a moving snowman. It was nice while it lasted though, like a real winter season.
Tonight I am going to my old study abroad coordinators Thanksgiving dinner. She is giving it for her current study abroad group so I won't know anyone except her but I think it will be better than not having Thanksgiving at all.
I have another meeting with one of my supervisors for my thesis this morning, so we'll see how well I am progressing, (hopefully well because I am busy enough with other homework at the moment).
I also went to see a documentary that is part of the International Documentary Film Festival here in Amsterdam last night called "The English Surgeon". It was good, but intense. It is about an English neurosurgeon who went to the Ukraine to give a lecture 15 years ago and saw what a horrible state their medical services are in. He has been going back to work with a Ukrainian doctor a few times a year for the past 15 years. It was shocking to see some of the people suffering in the Ukraine due to the serious lag in technology their country suffers from. It also showed an invasive brain surgery, and I can't handle seeing that much blood! Still the films that are part of the festival are always interesting because the film makers are there to answer any questions and you can talk to them for a while.
That's about all that is new from here.....
